Controlled Tightening with Protective Insulation
The HAZET 5109KV is an adjustable insulated torque wrench for controlled tightening within a range of 5–25 N·m. Select the torque value according to the connection manufacturer’s instructions.
The 3/8″ square drive is used with suitable insulated sockets of the matching drive size. The ratchet has 24 teeth and a ratchet opening angle of 15°.
For suitable service tasks on electric and hybrid vehicles, the HAZET 5109KV combines controlled tightening with 1000 V protective insulation in accordance with IEC 60900:2018. The insulation provides an additional layer of electrical protection when the tool is used correctly with compatible insulated accessories. Select the tool according to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque and service procedure. Work on high-voltage systems must be carried out by appropriately trained personnel using the required isolation procedures and protective equipment.
The scale graduation is 0.5 N·m. This indicates the increments shown on the scale and is separate from the ±4% torque accuracy. The tool has 1000 V protective insulation in accordance with IEC 60900:2018.
The actuating force indicates the minimum and maximum force required at the handle to reach the torque values within the specified range. HAZET specifies 2.1–11.0 kg for the 5109KV. This is not the weight of the tool.
The torque is adjusted by turning the handle. The locking mechanism secures the selected setting.
The square drive can be repositioned for clockwise or anticlockwise tightening. The specified ±4% accuracy applies in both tightening directions. An audible and tactile signal indicates when the set torque is reached. Stop tightening when this signal occurs.
Manufactured in Germany, the tool is supported in Türkiye by Surkon for technical enquiries and calibration service coordination. KV tools must be used by trained specialist personnel. Check that the insulation is undamaged before use.

HAZET 5109KV – Frequently Asked Questions
Is the HAZET 5109KV suitable for electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance?
Yes, for service tasks requiring 5–25 N·m and a 3/8″ square drive, where the vehicle manufacturer specifies suitable insulated tooling. Its 1000 V protective insulation provides an additional layer of electrical protection. It does not make every high-voltage task safe on its own. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s procedures for isolation, verification of absence of voltage and personal protective equipment. Only appropriately trained personnel should carry out this work.
What are the differences between the KV models?
The 5108KV covers 2–10 N·m with ±6% accuracy and a 3/8″ square drive. The 5109KV covers 5–25 N·m with ±4% accuracy and a 3/8″ square drive. The 5121KV covers 20–120 N·m with ±4% accuracy and a 1/2″ square drive. Select the model according to the required torque range and socket drive size.
What happens when the set torque is reached?
An audible and tactile signal occurs. Stop tightening when you receive this signal; do not continue applying force.
Does it also provide torque control during anticlockwise tightening?
Yes. Reposition the square drive for the required tightening direction. The specified ±4% torque accuracy applies to both clockwise and anticlockwise tightening.
Which sockets are compatible?
Use suitable insulated sockets with a 3/8″ square drive. For work on live equipment, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use the specified HAZET tools marked 1000 V and compliant with IEC 60900.
How often should the torque wrench be checked?
HAZET specifies checking annually or after 5,000 releases. Any necessary adjustment must follow the KV service requirements. Contact Surkon to arrange inspection and the appropriate service process.
Are calibration services and technical support available?
Yes. Surkon provides technical support and coordinates calibration and service enquiries in Türkiye. For HAZET KV torque wrenches, adjustment and repairs involving dismantling and reassembly must be carried out by the HAZET Service Centre. After repair, a 10,000 V routine test in accordance with IEC 60900 is required. Contact Surkon to arrange the appropriate service process and confirm calibration options.
